About Nashik Psychiatric Society

Nashik Psychiatric Society is an autonomous body of psychiatrists in the city of Nashik, working for betterment of mental health by promoting prevention, increasing awareness, appropriate treatment and reduction of psychiatric disabilities. Public education is main focus of activities, Psychiatric training, Research and academic exchange amongst members are other areas of functioning.
Regular activities consist of clinical meetings, seminars, invited lectures by eminent psychiatrists or mental health professionals. We celebrate world mental health day, schizophrenia day & world bipolar day to create awareness in public regarding mental health & mental illnesses De stigmatisation of mental health. Common platform for addressing the mental health issues in society.
AS a part of Indian Psychiatric society, we have organized Zonal & State level CMEs & conferences. Our branch has received BEST Branch award recently in West Zone.

Vision Statement

The Nashik Psychiatric society envisions that mental health is prioritized as part of general well-being and psychiatric disorders are no longer a cause of human suffering.

1. Promote public awareness and destigmatization of mental illness.
2. Improve access to quality psychiatric care for individuals with mental disorders, including substance use disorders.
3. Promote continuing psychiatric education and training of members.
4. Foster scientific research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of psychiatric and behavioral disorders.
5. Encourage collaboration among professionals in psychiatry, medicine, psychology, social sciences, and legal fields to advance holistic mental health.

New executive of Nashik Psychiatric Society installed
The oath-taking of the new executive body of Nashik Psychiatric Society (NPS) was held. Dr Jayant Dhake became President, Dr Umesh Nagapurkar Vice President, Dr Mahesh Bhirud Secretary, Dr Hemant Sonanis Treasurer. Executive members include Dr Anand Patil, Dr Vikas Chakor, Dr Nilesh Jejurkar, Dr Manas Sule, Dr Anup Bharti, and Dr Swati Vanjari.

Guest of honour Dr Vidyadhar Watve emphasized awareness on mental health, youth issues, and substance abuse. The event was anchored by Dr Shirish Kale with support from Dr Vijayalaxmi Supe, Dr Manisha Jagtap, and others.
