WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY OCTBOBER 10, 2016 and MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK (3RD – 10TH OCTOBER 2016) ACTIVITIES:

Inter-collegiate Poster making:
Open to all Essay writing competition
We reached out to around 45 schools and colleges within Nashik city and got positive response from around 21 schools and colleges with around 450 essays and around 50 posters. In open to all essay competition, we received 10 entries from general public. Winners were declared as Best Two in separate categories of English essays, English posters, Marathi essays, Marathi posters and Best Essay in Open to all category and Best Poster in Inter-collegiate category. Total winners were 10 with prize amount of Rs. 1001/- each with a certificate. We also felicitated Schools and Colleges with Maximum Participation in each of the above category.

ROLE PLAYS Performed by Psychiatrists on issues like Handling stressful or anxiety provoking situations, Grief and Depression, Learning disability in kid leading to parental conflict and Miscommunications leading to Marital conflict, each of around 10 minutes duration followed by discussion on the same.
TALK titled Shodh Sukhacha (Search Of Happiness) By Hon. Dr. Nandakumar Mulmule, a Senior Psychiatrist and a renowned speaker from Nanded, Maharashtra.

The departments of Psychiatry at MVP Medical college, Adgaon, Nashik and SMBT Medical College, Dhamangaon, Nashik also carried out various awareness activities
A street play by SMBT Medical Students at Igatpuri, coordinated by our member Dr. Muktesh Daund received good attention and reviews from Locals. An inter-collegiate poster competition (MBBS, Ayurved and Pharmacy) was also conducted with poster exhibition done on 10th October 2016 in Psychiatry ward.
